Business Development

Partner

Jeff Pope

Companies no longer dictate to the market, [because] the market now talks back.

Jeff’s passion for internet business began immediately upon graduating from Full Sail University in 1997 with a degree in digital media. He started his career in Denver, Colorado, with a company transitioning from an ISP (internet service provider) to a web design shop. Jeff soon invested to become a partner in the newly formed E-com Media Group; helping evolve the company’s next seven years of successful business.

Jeff eventually co-founded another venture in Indianapolis focusing on user experience web communications/marketing and SaaS (software as a service) web applications for member-based organizations. This venture led to his partnership with Quinlan Marketing and the formation of Quinlanux.

When Jeff is not espousing the virtues of the internet as a powerful marketing tool, you’re likely to find him spending quality time with his family or perhaps astride his motorcycle riding with friends and family in a local charity ride.

Creative Director

Writer

John McCaig

Web marketing communication is a digital derivative of all other forms of effective communication. It needs to be human, emotive and intelligent.

Beyond his passion for flying, scuba diving and raising five exuberant dogs, John has dedicated his career to improving the art and science of persuasive communication. His extensive experience in traditional marketing media has naturally evolved to a fascination of and appreciation for web marketing and the establishment of Quinlanux.

John began his tenure at Quinlan as a copywriter in 1969. He was appointed Vice President and Creative Director in 1975, promoted to Executive Vice President in 1978 and President in 1983. During his years in advertising, John has worked on virtually all the agency’s accounts, past and present. He remains responsible for the quality control of the agency’s creative product as well as account service. John has received significant recognition for both broadcast and print advertising, including national Addys and New York Film Festival awards.

Quinlan’s success, and certainly its longevity, is attributable to an approach that John continues to maintain — hire great people with great talent and keep them happy. The rest seems to take care of itself time and time and time again.

John majored in English at Indiana University.

Ben Huddleston

I'm appalled that people in this day and age aren't measuring their marketing efforts.

Ben Huddleston has now been a founder of five web companies including Quinlanux. Ben is a jack of all trades in the web world and has worked just about every aspect of online marketing including information architecture, design, development, SEO/SEM, e-mail campaigns and copy (which he tries to avoid like the plague). He is now mainly involved on the programming side of web and enjoys working with Javascript, PHP, CSS, MySQL, PostgreSQL, web standards and other technologies that happen to catch his eye (especially anything Mac related). When he has time, he likes to share his discoveries with others.

Ben has been accused of being a WordPress evangelist and has been known to write WordPress plugins for fun, though he has yet to release any to the public due to fear of having to keep them up to date! Ben also enjoys playing with MVC frameworks including Zend Framework and CodeIgniter. When not at work or spending time with his family, Ben can usually be found tinkering with some form of technology and unfortunately is the go-to guy for all things computer for too many Windoze users (who he has been diligently trying to convert to Mac).

Ben has a serious addiction to Monster Energy Drinks (Benergy) and chocolate, which are both awesome… just not together.

Amy Raider

It's fun to watch people learn the wide array of possibilities offered by the web. Often they just don't know what can be accomplished.

Amy’s yearbook staff adviser encouraged her to pursue her love of all things planning, organizing, writing and creation by studying advertising. Four years later with a degree from Ball State University, she came to work at Quinlan.

You might catch Amy interviewing customers for video testimonials, coordinating events or working with clients to formalize strategies. And don’t ask her opinion about a comma in a series unless you want to take a look at the AP Stylebook.

Over her 11 years at Quinlan, she has worked closely with Allison Transmission, Evanced Solutions, Kiwi-Tek and many outside vendors. Amy is happily married to her high school sweetheart and expecting baby No. 2 – affectionately named Cupcake by its big sister.

It’s still about effectively communicating a persuasive message to the appropriate audience.

In a career that has spanned 30 years, Dave has seen how technological advancements have changed the advertising and marketing paradigm. Without a doubt, the biggest game-changer has been the web.

However, as Dave points out, “It’s not that traditional marketing ideas are no longer valid. Quite the contrary. It’s still about effectively communicating a persuasive message to the appropriate audience. The big difference now is the audience is an active participant.”

As senior writer/producer at Quinlan, Dave puts his well-rounded background to work for the user experience. He’s a quick study and adept at communicating a clear, concise message that effectively resonates and motivates.
